Can You Hear Their Cries In The Wind

Can you hear their cries in the wind?

Can you smell their desperation?

They fight change with venom,

Covering their adversaries in vile spittel.

Red faced with anger they create crisis

Instilling fear and loathing in the gullible.

Spewing hatred, they seek to divide

Driving a wedge between brothers.

Lurching in their death throes

They claw to remain relevant, but it is futile!

Time is progressing as it always has

While they remain mired in the muck of the past.

Just as the dinosaur was doomed to extinction

So to are they, except they do not yet realize it.

Farewell you carnivorous beasts.

50 Word Story: The Cesspool

We are falling backwards; so much anger, hatred, prejudice bubbling to the surface.  We’re just  fooling ourselves if we think we have progressed.  Look at the cesspool in which we wade searching for leadership. Certainly this must make us the laughingstock of the free world thanks to our presidential candidates.

Politician’s Words

Politician’s words

Sometimes I just shake my head

Such stupidity

Appealing to the fringes

They hurt intentionally

We’re more sensitive

Of this there is little doubt

It is about time

Why must we tolerate hate

From those who wish to lead us

It’s freedom of speech

Defended by so many

I would not trade this

But freedom comes with a cost

One that is best spent wisely
