Summer’s Heat, July

Summer’s heat, July

Birds…bees sing their joyful songs

By nature’s design.

Sadly we too oft’ ignore

Beauty that lay before us.

Distracted by life

All just to try to survive

We get very lost.

Perhaps if we took a step back

What we’re missing would be found.

Look to the sky, grass,

Look to the simplicity in life

For what’s important.

This is what Mother gave us

To keep from going insane.

Crack…Sound of Thunder

Crack…sound of thunder

Explosion like fireworks

Honoring nature

Rain…confetti showering

Crystal sparks upon the earth

What is more lovely

Than the beauty and power

Of Heaven above

She pauses to remind us

When we get too arrogant

Landing back to mother earth

Children home to roost

We See The Light Ahead

We see the light ahead through splintered shores,

At once familiar and comforting is now gone.

Man labors with back and hand in attempt to restore

All that growing up we cherished most fond.

This eternal fight we fight against nature’s mother

Seldom permits us a chance to win.

An emboldened adversary unlike any other,

One we’ve struggled against since time began.

Still we battle her in the most reckless of ways

Settling on shores in storm fronts path.

Destruction and death like the end-of-days;

Consequences suffered by the masters wrath.

As time passes–in weakness we forget

Under crystal skies and the calming blue sea.

Rebuilding what was lost without worry or regret,

Ignoring natures warnings by choosing not to flee.

As history has proven this will happen again,

Crushing what we make like a house of cards.

Then just like before we will struggle and mend,

Sweeping away the timber and shards.

What do we expect when we challenge the Almighty

By rebuking the call to heed his demands.

Instead doing what we please–never contritely,

Choosing to suffer rather than follow his commands.

Unusual For Its Heavenly Glory

Unusual for its heavenly glory,

A simple yet wondrous beam of light;

All colors of the spectrum shining bright.

I would have thought it a rainbow,

But for my own eyes.

Sun outlined in a thin veil of clouds–

It could not be restrained

Spilling its multicolored hues upon the earth;

A perfect column leading straight to heaven.

Mesmerized, I gazed open mouthed,

Would I have perceived this prior,

In my haste would I have been as if blind?

Beauties claim is not staked by the material alone,

This I’ve come to realize.

I’ve opened my eyes,

I’ve opened my ears,

I’ve opened my mind,

And was astonished by the effervescent world…

That surrounds me.

Mother Earth

Drawn to Mother Earth

And all her healing powers

The secrets she holds

Locked in beautiful crystals

As old as the earth itself

~

Forged of elements

White, black, green, red, yellow, blue

Creations marvel

What mysteries must they hold

In this spiritual world

Fortress Strong

Sealed up tight in fortress strong

Awaiting horrors start unknown

For eons this a battle long

Beauty in tragedy time has shown

                            ~~

Landscapes ravaged, void and burned

Brown and black the palette chosen

Man controls, but has not learned

In Mother’s power, his frailty exposing

                           ~~

Yet in the wake of this terrible scourge

A million lives behind armor are born

Without so much as a prod or an urge

This called home on land war torn

                           ~~

A tiny life out of ashes protrude

This progeny will not struggle alone

Natures mysteries through pain they exude

In beauty birthed of the lowly pine cone
