Look In The Mirror

Look in the mirror

We’re going back fifty years

To a darker time.

Racism, hate center stage

I’m filled with disappointment.

Look at the cabinet,

Damn to our environment

Our kids don’t need it.

Damn the nation’s energy

Coal and oil pollute us.

Damn security

You’re selling out to Russia

Lying…you don’t know.

Selling your soul to China

What reason we don’t know.

You got what you want

Then you sold out to your kind.

Lying to your fools,

They believe all that you say

Like those children of the corn.

When will you wake up,

Seeing that he’s dangerous

A modern fascist

Ransoming America

For him and his friends riches?

You were simply pawns

While you swallowed the Kool-aide

Believing Satan

Would save you all from yourselves,

Only to find he hates you.

He’s Scorching The Earth

He’s scorching the earth;

Smell of sulfur permeates

From Hell’s fiery pit.

Long buried deep underground

His minions have arisen;

Blindly following

Abaddon’s vile deception

Like mindless rabble,

Anarchists legitimized

By the greatest deceiver.

Now’s the time for the

Thundering of the Shofar!

Time to declare war

In our fight for decency…

This nation’s identity.

We must not succumb

To conspiracy theories,

To the Fallen’s lies.

He will not be your savior

But instead your worst nightmare.

There’s still time…repent!,

Wake up before it’s too late

From this horrid dream.

We deserve better than this

Better than this Satan’s lies.

Freedom Of Speech Hurts

Freedom of speech hurts

When offered with hate in mind.

Pious hypocrites,

You hide behind religion

Twisting the words of your God!

What would Christ have done!

He’d overturn your tables

And dump your self righteous coins

Like the vile money changers in your book

That’s what comes to mind

In the end, who will be judged

You or those you persecute?

Perhaps a look in the mirror is in order.

Gates Of Hell Opened

Gates of Hell opened!

What lies in store for the damned

Who worship Satan?

His power grows with applause,

His insatiable ego

Thrives hearing his name.

Feeding off the ignorance

Of the cheering hordes

He spews hate with a smile

Leaving fans drooling for more.

Our Tide In Great Waves Rolls Out

Our tide, in great waves rolls out,

Back to a dark and murky ocean.

So long we have struggled to crawl from the slime

To a place of light and enlightenment in this New World.

Holding up the Statue of Liberty as a sign of hope,

As a sign of our lust for freedom and equality,

We are showered in a torrent of our own hypocrisy.

There are brothers and sisters among us

That still struggle for whole-hearted inclusion.

Cast to the fringes they are ostracized and criticized

For their God-instilled proclivities.

As men, who are we to be judge and jury of our peers,

This was not ordained upon us by the Creator!

Time and again we wander this rocky treacherous road

Seeking to impose man’s prejudices upon men.

Would Christ whom you hold so dear have been this cold,

Tossing his brethren out into the desert?

You dredge up this muck with arrogance under the guise of freedom

Plotting all the time to shackle others for your cause.

Put yourself in your adversaries shoes,

Do they not feel worn out and ragged?

Early in this twenty first century I was optimistic,

Hopeful that common sense and compassion would prevail,

But now I am left disgusted and embarrassed.

Is this what America has devolved into,

A nation of oppression, prejudice and inequality

Based on twisted interpretations of God?

A travesty we have become…indeed!

Cries Come From The Hill (Tanka)

Cries come from the Hill

They’re coming to kill us all

Mystic Lindsey Graham

He doesn’t need any proof

He just reads his crystal ball

Discrimination

Discrimination

By religious objection

Legally sanctioned

Isn’t it time we grew up

And let bygones be bygones

Yet some of us can’t

Gays can be refused service

In Arizona

That is if the law passes

Welcome back to the stone age

AUTHOR’S NOTE:  For those that are interested here is a link  to the story that prompted me to write this piece.  Arizona is placing a bill in front of the governor for her signature or veto that allows individuals, businesses and religious institutions to deny service or admission, primarily to members of the LGBT community so long as they can show that their discriminatory actions were prompted by their religious convictions.  This is disgraceful in my opinion and certainly does not make me proud to live in this state.

The Wretch Within

Mirror shattered,

Bluish-green razor edge inviting,

Showing me pieces of who I used to be,

In fractured frames,

Blurring the lines of my worn and weary face.

To go on seems pointless,

In light of the disappointment I’ve sown in my life,

What relief cool glass to flesh would bring,

Were it not for the disappointment it would usher,

The woes of family and friends,

The abomination I would be before God,

The cowardice of my soul,

The greater Hell I would face.

Maybe this life is the biblical Hell,

Perhaps everything hereafter is Heavenly,

I do not know,

I can not know,

These things beyond the knowledge of man,

Revealed as mystery whilst I breath.

Of this I am certain, I will carry my burden,

Not for me as I am beyond hope,

But for those around me,

To prevent the shame of my imperfections.

Maybe this is the cross that I must bear,

Heavy…splinters piercing my flesh,

Wretched in this worldly skin.
